Rowan New Moon
Lunar Imbolc, a powerful moon phase ahead and a daily ritual crafted to serve as a daily reminder to have faith in your inner light and truth.
The arrival of this new moon was deceptively quiet, only to unexpectedly jolt me today. It serves as a poignant reminder of the current state of flux and uncertainty. Reminding me of the liminal time and space we’re in now, the delicate balance between what was and what is yet to come.
It also prompts me to contemplate how to face the challenge of navigating the liminal spaces within myself, embracing the uncertainty while seeking clarity and growth.
In our old tradition, the Rowan tree is revered for its association with this new moon phase, believed to aid in channeling creativity, offering protection, and empowering individuals.
There’s a young Rowan tree located on a sacred hill not far from my house. I frequently make visits to this tree and the surrounding site, finding it to be a liminal place. Despite the tree's youthful age, it seems to exude a sense of nobility, strength, and inspiration. There's something about standing beside it, grasping the trunk as if it were a staff, that instills in me an innate power and fearlessness, evoking the spirit of a warrior, awakening a reminder of something deep within me.
This lunar phase can be likened to the experience of sitting on and riding a see-saw. It presents a choice: to falter, or to remain steadfast in your devotion and intuitive wisdom. The following ritual is crafted to serve as a daily reminder to have faith in your inner light and truth.
The serenity of the moon this evening and the strong, unwavering presence of this and the many other Rowan trees around me stand as a testament to steadfastness. Their silent wisdom speaks of an unshakeable spirit of trust.
