Today, March 20th, at 10:01 AM, the Earth reaches a perfect balance—day and night, light and shadow in equal harmony.
Nature and the cosmos have a way of reminding us of their immense power, of the unseen forces that shape our world. Whispering in the shift of seasons, the call of birds that sing the dawn awake, the quiet persistence of a dandelion breaking through the soil, summoned by the returning light.
Take a moment today. Feel it. Breathe it in.
That tingle on your skin, the goosebumps rising—it's more than just sensation. It’s energy, a stirring, a creative pulse moving through all things. A reminder that we, too, are part of this vast and wondrous dance.
Change is real. The shift is happening. Trust it. Move with it.
Listen. The Universe hums with magic, with rhythm, with song.
At our core, we are made of the same light.
Happy Equinox
Common Name: Dandelion
Scientific Name: Taraxacum
Irish Name: Caisearbhán
Family Group: Asteraceae
A natural cleansing tonic and stimulant, the humble dandelion is one of the greatest powerhouses known to us in the plant kingdom. Perhaps explaining why it is so prolific and well known and easily recognisable to us.
It is a wonderful folk medicine, the whole plant, flowers, roots and leaves can be used in various ways. It has been regarded for centuries as a stimulant for the liver and an overall cleansing tonic. One of its most important functions is as a diuretic, flushing out impurities. The bitterness of the leaves, like all bitter herbs, stimulates the digestive juices. Where I am from it was often offered as a tonic with burdock as a traditional remedy for poor appetite or digestion.
Dandelion can be widely used for culinary purposes as well as for natural remedies. The leaves are great in a salad or soups. The younger the leaves, the less bitter they will taste. The flower heads can be made into a very honey like tasting syrup. These flower heads are packed with pollen, which may add to the similarity with honey, the bees love them!
