Wise Creatures Of The Wetlands
The significance of the Heron revealing valuable lessons of balance during the week of the equinox is certainly not lost on me.
For the past two months, I’ve been going on (nearly) daily walks with my daughter to Cong, a charming small village not too far from where we live. We enjoy walking here, especially during the summer months when it’s bustling with tourists and offers a glimpse into other worlds and cultures.
Every time we visited, I inevitably saw a heron, every single time without fail. It was either standing motionless and poised in the calm river water, on the walls of the crumbling abbey or gracefully flying above my head in the clear blue sky. Just last week, as I stepped out of the car, two of these magnificent birds soared majestically across the sky right above me!
I had a strong feeling that there was some deeper significance as to why I kept encountering this ancient-looking bird, but I just couldn’t put my finger on what it might be… That is, until last week when everything changed.
